Oxymoral PI appointed chair of the international conference scientific committee
The Department of Slavic Philology at the Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra organized an international conference, the XXXIVth Colloquium of Young Linguists, under the auspices of the Slovak Linguistic Society at the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, on November 26–27, 2025. The event was attended by many students, doctoral students, and young researchers from universities and research institutions of Slovakia, Czechia, Bulgaria, Russia, etc.
The event was officially opened with speeches by univ. doc. PhDr. Daša Nováčiková, PhD., Vice-Dean for International Relations and Development at the Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, and Prof. Mgr. Martin Diweg-Pukanec, PhD., Chair of the Scientific Committee of the conference. They pointed out the importance of this traditional conference, which is of fundamental significance for the formation of a generation of young linguists in Central Europe and Europe as a whole.
After the meeting, a cultural program was prepared for all guests, which included a tour of the historic center of Nitra and Nitra Castle, including the diocesan museum and castle tower, as well as a gala dinner featuring a musical performance by Slovak students. This conference was an excellent opportunity to inform young European linguists about the OXYMORAL project in an informal way.
