INALCO, Paris, France

Kick-off meeting of CLingS follow-up project scheduled

The research project for 2026-2028 entitled „Cross-lingual information retrieval for scientific datasets in less-resourced languages“, to be led by the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris, France was recommended for funding. Project „CLingS“ introduces several scientific and technological advances beyond the current state of the art, in particular domain-specific multilingual retrieval for less-resourced languages like Slovak. Unlike generic multilingual search systems, „CLingS“ focuses on scientific language, integrating domain-specific embeddings, terminological alignment, and contextualized semantic mapping.

The first online meeting of the project CLingS is scheduled for mid-January 2026. The kick-off meeting of this follow-up project to OXYMORAL is scheduled to take place in Paris at the INALCO on May 21–22, 2026.
