The final conference and research trip within the OXYMORAL project, Inverted Morality: Reversed Semantics in Old Church Slavic Moral Words, took place in Stará Lesná, Slovakia, on 17-19 August 2026, as part of the 24th Slovak Onomastic Conference: Continuity, Variability and Innovations in Onomastics. The project was represented through the presentation “On the semantics of Slavic dobr- in the Multilingual Onomastic Dataset of the Cividale Gospel,” which explored the semantic development of the Slavic root dobr- and its reflection in onomastic material, particularly in the Cividale Gospel.
The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to present and promote the results of the concluding OXYMORAL project, both within the official programme and through informal discussions with fellow researchers. At the same time, the event marked a natural transition towards its follow-up project, Cross-lingual Information Retrieval for Scientific Datasets in Less-Resourced Languages. The new project builds on the research, expertise and infrastructure developed within OXYMORAL and opens up new perspectives for their application to less-resourced languages and scientific datasets. Thus, this final OXYMORAL conference engagement served as a symbolic and substantive bridge between the two projects. The conference also brought a valuable contribution to the Semantic Laboratory established within the OXYMORAL project, as several researchers generously donated books to its library.
