On October 29, 2025, the 16th nationwide meeting of linguists was held at the University Library in Bratislava, in connection with the General Assembly of the Slovak Linguistic Society at the Ľudovít Štúr Institute of Linguistics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, attended by OXYMORAL R2, PaedDr. Renáta Hlavatá, PhD.
In the afternoon part of the meeting, Dr. Hlavatá presented a paper on Selected Research Projects at the Department of Slavic Philology, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. She focused primarily on the project OXYMORAL – Inverted Morality: Reversed Semantics in Old Church Slavic Moral Words.
Among other things, she stated that the research led by Prof. Martin Diweg-Pukanec focuses on changes in the meaning of words in the moral sphere by presenting fundamental facts concerning semantic changes in Proto-Slavic words from the moral sphere in Old Church Slavonic as well as in modern Slavic languages. The project combines linguistic, historical, religious, anthropological, cultural, and ethical factors and has yielded promising results.
