From September 25 to September 27, 2025, Humboldt University in Berlin hosted the 12th International Congress of Belarusian Researchers. Researchers from various countries participated, including Belarus, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, the USA, England, Germany, France, Austria, Iceland, Ireland, China, and several others. The organizers divided the contributions into 13 sections, each of which was further divided into subsections (52 in total). The Congress program was 74 pages long. The working languages were Belarusian, English, and German.
In the section on Belarusian glottodidactics, Alena Kalechyts gave a presentation on the topic of Verbal Equivalents of Gestures and Mimics in Belarusian Speech Etiquette: Linguistic-Pragmatic and Didactic Aspects (based on the example of working with texts). According to the discussion that ensued, the lecture attracted the attention of the Congress participants and received positive feedback. As part of the public presentations, Oxymoral R2 A. Kalechyts also presented the departmental project „Oxymoral“, led by Professor M. Diweg-Pukanec, on the topic of semantic changes in Old Church Slavic moral words: implementation of the Belarusian part of the project. In summarizing the results of all the events of the congress, this presentation was recognized as one of the most successful.
