JUST PUBLISHED: J. Gallo, „To Some Features of Slovak Eastern Gemer Dialects with Emphasis on Vlachovo Dialects in the Slanská Valley“

 

 

 

The article in Cross-Cultural Studies: Education and Science (2025, Vol. 10, No. 1, pp. 61-71) deals with the issue of some features of Slovak Eastern dialects focusing the attention on Vlachovo dialects in the Slaná Valley. The importance of Slovak dialects for the research and reconstruction of the earliest history of the Slovak language as well as the non-inclusion of the Gemer dialects in the past always into the Slovak language and the fact that these dialects were not always considered Slovak is presented. Semantic and other peculiarities of the dialects of Eastern Gemer (Eastern Gemer dialects) with an accent on the Slanská Valley (Slansko-Dolinské dialects) with a brief description and characteristics of a smaller dialect group in the north of the Slanská Valley – the Vlachovo dialect supplemented with exemplary material with forms of contemporary literary Slovak with translation equivalents in Russian are given. The exemplification material is supplemented with forms of contemporary standard Slovak with translation equivalents in Russian.
